Photographers have to be intuitive. We have to be in tune to every minute detail around us. I feel by being able to stop time in fractions of seconds and study that instant we gain not just a sense of personal examination, but a more universal view. Photographs are indelible. They don’t change, but our feelings about them change. I make images that are real, but real is the ultimate in subjective. The key is to make images that capture something in common to all of us. Something we can all relate to on some level.
I find inspiration in everything – my thoughts, my feelings, how I relate to the world, how others relate to the world and the physical, formal environment. There are photographs everywhere waiting to be made. You just have to stop, look and listen. I know I’ll spend the rest of my life chasing and creating images and I’ll never be done.
